Glycolic acid helps with dry and oily conditions alike. It dissolves the dry and thick layers of the skin and unclogs the pores as well as helping other nourishing products and ingredients to penetrate. The stimulation achieved by a therapeutic glycolic product also increases circulation, smoothes uneven skin, and improves the overall function of the skin. Another well-known benefit of glycolic acid is its ability to improve the appearance of surface hyperpigmentation, often seen in acne prone skin.
Aloe has been recognized for many years as being anti-inflammatory. Its e"ects are soothing and astringent. Aloe is excellent for sensitive skin, rosacea, and dry skin.
This ingredient aids in dissolving the top layer of the stratum corneum by virtue of its keratolytic nature. Salicylic acid is derived from the bark of sweet birch and the leaves of wintergreen. It is also known for its antiseptic qualities and is acceptable for use on most skin types, except those allergic to “aspirin” or extremely dry or extra sensitive skin.
This ingredient is known for its astringent properties. Witch hazel extract is also toning, anti-inflammatory, and regulating. It has a vasoconstrictor e!ect that is excellent for inflamed, irritated, or acneic skin conditions.
